Spider-Man & Wolverine Vol 1 #1 - CGC 9.6 - WhatNot Gold Foil Edition

The issue opens with Wolverine meeting an old acquaintance, a career spy named Bill Branscome, in a HYDRA safe house in Berlin. Branscome informs Wolverine about the "Janus Directory," a mythical master database containing the identities and missions of every undercover agent, which has fallen into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s possession. Fearing the devastating consequences if the directory is leaked, Branscome implies he needs Wolverine's help.

One week later in New York City, Peter Parker is on a date with his girlfriend, Shay Marken, when Wolverine abruptly interrupts them, insisting Parker come with him immediately. Wolverine has tracked the Janus Directory to a defunct S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier in a storage facility in Astoria, Queens.

As they board the helicarrier, they are ambushed by Kraven the Hunter and Omega Red, who are also after the directory. During the ensuing battle, Kraven reveals he has an ally, and both Spider-Man and Wolverine are subjected to powerful hallucinations that exploit their past traumas. Spider-Man recognizes the signature scent of his old foe, Mysterio, who reveals he was coerced into helping Kraven.

While Wolverine distracts Kraven and Omega Red, Spider-Man hacks into the helicarrier's quantum core to access the directory. He discovers detailed files on his parents, secret agents Richard and Mary Parker, including the final video surveillance from their fatal plane crash. As he watches the footage, Peter is horrified to see a younger Wolverine on the plane, confronting his parents just before the transmission cuts.

The comic ends with Wolverine searching for Spider-Man amidst the wreckage, only for an enraged Spider-Man to appear behind him, vowing, "...I'M GOING TO KILL YOU".
