Youngblood #2

In D'khay, a team who call themselves the Berzerkers, made up by Battleaxe, Cross, Grey, Psi-Storm and Wildmane, are trying to rescue a man named Jackson Kirby from an army of robotic beings named the Death Squad controlled by a mastermind named Darkthornn. After beating the guards, they find Kirby, who has freed himself. They mention they've lost their teammate Darcangel. They escape through a "crash tunnel", a portal that crosses space-time. Meanwhile, Darkthornn is watching them, telling his subordinate that "The Disciples" won't be stopped in their mission and vowing that the prophecy will not come to pass.

In Berlin, at a G.A.T.E. laboratory, Youngblood have been called in to bring something back to the United States: a cryogenically-frozen man by the name of Jonathan Taylor Prophet. The scientists who found him tell the story: Dr. Garnet Wells was working on human experimentation in 1937, using homeless people as test subjects to advance human genes, which earned him the nickname of the "mad scientist". It was also rumored that he was using futuristic technology. One subject, Prophet, surpassed Wells' expectations and Wells developed his natural athletic abilities to the point of superhuman strength, speed and stamina. Wells gave Prophet an "outlandish" uniform and weapons far beyond the limits of even 1992's science, but disappeared sometime in the Second World War after rumors started flying that Hitler wanted the results of Wells' work. Now, Youngblood must safely transport the sleeping Prophet back to the States for further research.

Cougar considers this treatment exploitative and wishes it doesn't come to happen to his people, whereas Combat states on his planet they would do no less. While they examine Prophet and his cryogenic tube, Cougar accidentally presses a button and wakes Prophet up. Prophet mistakes Youngblood for the Disciples of Doom, and begins assaulting them. Prophet overpowers Cougar and Combat, but after Sentinel and Riptide shake him, Bramha breaks his neck. Despite all this, Prophet recovers, and the fight continues. However, the Disciples of Doom themselves arrive for Prophet, murdering the scientist from G.A.T.E. Psi-Fire pleads they let him help, but he's on probation due to his last murder. Mere seconds later, the Berzerkers also join the scene through a crash tunnel, led by Kirby!
