The Surfer explains that he recently discovered that his true love, Shalla-Bal, is still on Earth. However, Doctor Doom has erased her memories and she is now devoted to the villain. Doom has ordered the Surfer to destroy the Fantastic Four or Shalla-Bal will never know the Surfer again.
